The Emmy Nominations Are Announced

The leading nominee, with 24 nods, was for, “The Pacific,” the World War II drama by the creators of “Band of Brothers.”

The Emmy Award nominations were announced this morning with the television musical comedy show, “Glee” earning 19 nominations. Nominations included those for the shows stars, Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison as well as a nod for the best comedy series.

“The Tonight Show” with Conan O’Brien was nominated for best variety, music or comedy series. This was a snub to Jay Leno who left the show and then returned pushing Conan out of his short stint.

Other nominees included “Modern Family,” “The Good Wife,” and “Lost.” “Saturday Night Live” nabbed 12 nominations bringing its total up to 126 nominations during its long television run. This makes it the most nominated show in history. One of this year’s nominations went to guest host, Betty White, who proved that she’s still got it!

The Emmy Awards Ceremony will be broadcast on the NBC network on August 29.
