Conan Writers Sign Up For Marvel’s Doctor Strange Movie
Production on the Dr. Strange movie has taken a big step forward after Marvel Studios hired screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, who together wrote the Matthew McConaughey adventure Sahara and the upcoming Conan reboot. (They’re also working on the Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune adaptation.)
Back in 2007, Marvel released the animated movie; Doctor Strange which actually was pretty decent so it’s obvious that the studio has confidence in the character.
For those of you who don’t know, Doctor Steven Strange, created by Stan Lee, was a world famous neurosurgeon whose talents in the operating theatre were matched only by his vanity and ego.
After a car accident damaged his hands and rendered him unable to perform operations, Strange embarked on a journey to discover a cure for his injuries which led him all the way to the Himalayas where upon he met up with a hermit called the Ancient One (as you do) who promptly teaches him the mystical arts and before you know it, Steven Strange is transformed from a selfish bastard into a wise and powerful sorcerer…
So, now that Marvel has hired the writers it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing names linked to the project and I’ll say it right here, right now; we’re all going to be sick of seeing George Clooney’s name linked to the role of Steven Strange come six months time.
