According to Polyphony Digital head honcho Kaz Yamauchi, the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 is so technically advanced that it is almost too powerful for the PS3 and instead, really should have been created for the PS4.

Talking to the Official Playstation Magazine, Yamauchi said…

“The level of precision we’ve achieved [in GT5] is actually more suited to the next generation of machines. The detail that goes into a premium model [has] gone beyond the level of the current PlayStation.”

That actually doesn’t make a lick of sense; he said GT5 has “gone beyond the level of the current Playstation” and yet it’s still being released in November. He should have said something along the lines of “many ideas failed to get developed due to the restrictions of the hardware”, that would have made moe sense methinks…
