Check Out The First Picture Of Anthony Hopkins As Odin
Marvel has released a new set pic from Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Thor movie and, um, well, I really don’t know what to think about it.
Before I saw the picture of Anthony Hopkins as Odin with Loki and Thor in the background I had high hopes for the movie.
But now, after seeing Hopkins in his glossy suit of arms and that golden eye-patch I can’t help but be reminded of the Schumacher Batman movies.
Seriously, the costumes look way too plasticky…
And Thor’s hammer Mjolnir?
Can you see it?
It looks exactly like the cheap unofficial knock-off I had as a kid.
I know it’s only one picture but that one picture, for me, has totally burst my excitement bubble. I really can’t see how these costumes fit into the current Marvel movie universe.
Hopefully when I see the costumes in motion they’ll look better?
What do you guys think?

I agree the armor looks plastic-y – although in the movie as they are moving around and get dirty things could be different.
Otherwise though Hopkins looks good – looking like the “All Father.”
I can hardly wait to see the Thor movie. I’m a Marvel fan from way back and also a long time Marvel fan fiction writer:
