Nintendo are looking at an early 2011 release date for their heavily anticipated; The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Back at E3, Shigeru Miyamoto disappointed fans of the popular franchise by revealing that the Wii-exclusive was not going to be released this year like many of us thought it would be. Offering us only the vague “2011” release date, the pessimistic among us worried that we might not see the game until Q3 or Q4 of next year.

Well, according to producer Eiji Aounuma, Nintendo are aiming to release Skyward Sword in early 2011.

Talking to the Official Nintendo Magazine, Aounuma said…

“The basis we have now is very, very solid. Early 2011 — that is what we’re aiming for.”

Hopefully by “Early 2011” Aounuma is talking Q1 as the build of the game shown at this year’s E3 looked to be at a pretty advanced stage. Seriously, I don’t think I could wait any longer than Q1.
