While filming next summer’s anticipated blockbuster, the “Green Lantern,” the costume that Reynolds wears on the set is filled with sensors. They are similar to the sensors that athletes wear when their moves are being captured for use in video games. When the scenes finish shooting, the sensors allow that the costume is added post-production through technology.

As the computer-generated costume is revealed it has been receiving mixed reactions from ridiculous to high praise.

Reynolds is featured on the cover of the July 23 issue of Entertainment Weekly. In that photo, the costume is actually digitally “painted on.”

The “Green Lantern” movie, originally was slated to star Jack Black as the title character, is due for release in June 2011. It will co-star Blake Lively, who plays Reynold’s love interest. Also set to star in the film are Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong. It is being directed by Martin Campbell who is reportedly making an appearance in the film as well.
