Sega and Marvel have announced that a video game tie-in for the upcoming Thor movie will be released on all major formats to coincide with next year’s release of the superhero movie.

Players will be able to take control of Thor and get to wield the legendary hammer Mjolnir and twat various beasties. The plot for the video game will take elements from both the upcoming movie and previous comics.

Gary Knight, Sega’s SVP of Marketing for Europe and America said…

“We are proud to be bringing Thor to his first solo video game adventure. Thor: The Video Game will finally bring the immense power of this iconic hero to lifelong fans, and introduce the God of Thunder to a whole new audience as a true Marvel Super Hero.”

After the awful Iron Man video games I don’t think I’ll be getting too excited about a Thor video game.

Thor: The Video Game will hit retail next summer on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and DS.
