According to Deadline Hollywood, Working Title are planning on making a movie based on the popular Astro City comic book series.

Kurt Busiek, the creator of the series will write the script while Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce.

As of right now that’s all there is to the project. No director has been signed and casting is way off.

Astro City was first launched back in 1995 and is a series of stories set in the fictional city of the same name . The stories revolve around a group of superheroes like The Hanged Man, Jack in the Box, Winged Beauty and the Samaritan as they do battle with a group of super-villains.

Plans to make a movie based on Astro City were first proposed back in 2003 but they never went any further that the talking stage. Hopefully now, with the high demand for superhero movies being so great, the project will move into production. After all, we live in a world where Watchmen got made and that was thought to be unfilmable.
