The Street Fighter / Tekken Crossover Games Not Coming Until 2012

After Capcom wowed the Comic-Con audience with their teaser trailer for Street Fighter X Tekken, speculation begun to mount as to when the game would hit retail.

Some suggested, or more like hoped, that it would be out in time for Christmas while others took a more pessimistic approach and predicted a 2012 release.

Well, it seems that the pessimists were right on the money.

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter X Tekken will not be released until 2012 as work didn’t even begin on the game until two months ago.

Capcom also revealed that no further announcements will be made on the game until next year’s Captivate event next April which suggests, to me at least, a Q1 2012 release date.

It was also announced that Namco will be making their own version of Street Fight X Tekken and that the two companies will not talk to each other during production for competitive reasons.

I cannot wait to see which version is better.
