Jensen Ackles, the star of the hit show Supernatural has revealed that he directed an episode from the upcoming sixth season of the show.

Ackles also revealed that sitting behind the camera presented him with a unique challenge. Talking to Digital Spy at last weekend’s Comic-Con he said…

“It was a lot of work. But it was cool in the fact that I’ve never really approached a script with that kind of universal outlook on it. I was doing one character for five years – that’s where my focus is when I read a script. So to then bring that back and have to really take it all in and make decisions on every bit of the script as opposed to just my character… It was cool, it was refreshing, it was kind of invigorating.”

Was it, um, Awesome?

The brand new sixth season of Supernatural returns to US TV screens on September 24 on The CW.
