Gemma Arterton has revealed that she will be returning to the role of Io for Clash of the Titans 2.

Talking to MTV, the star revealed that even though she has yet to sign any contracts, she fully expects to be part of the production when it gears up next year ready for its 2012 release…

“I think I am doing the second Clash. I don’t know anything about it yet though. It’s one of those things.”

Then she offered up some suggestions for her character…

“I think she needs to be less mythical and more real and go for the fighting. It’s fun, as well, doing all that stuff.”

Arterton can also be seen in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Unlike the first movie, Clash of the Titans 2 is expected to be filmed in 3D rather than have the effects added in post-production.
