Walk of Fame Star for Mark Wahlberg
Former “Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch” frontman turned successful actor and producer, Mark Wahlberg, will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. Wahlberg is anticipating the opening of his new comedy co-starring Will Ferrell, “The Other Guys,” which is set to open August 6.
Ferrell and director of “The Other Guys,” will speak with Wahlberg in the ceremony honoring the 2,414th Walk of Fame star at 6259 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Dillon’s Irish Pub. The ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM, PT.
Hailing from Boston, Wahlberg is the youngest of nine children. His brother, Donny Wahlberg, gained fame as a member of the successful boy band, “New Kids on the Block.” Wahlberg had his own taste of music success when he released his platinum single, “Good Vibrations.”
His acting debut was in the 1993 cable television movie, “The Substitute” with his movie debut in “Renaissance Man” occurring one year later. He then has gone on to star in dozens of movies and behind the scenes projects.
