Brittany Murphy’s tragic death has sparked much controversy.  Not only did she die suspiciously at a young age, but her widower, Simon Monjack, also died suspiciously only one year later. However, according to Jeffrey Mongenroth, Murphy’s former business manager, prior to his death, Simon Monjack drained his deceased wives financial accounts by 80 percent.

According to statements Mongenroth made to People magazine, with all of Murphy’s money gone, her 57-year-old mother, Sharon, faces financial insecurity.

“There were huge amounts of money in [Brittany's] pension plan and bank account, and all of that’s gone,” Morgenroth told People. “I would see it on the statements. There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands.”

Linda Monjack, Simon’s mother, insists that her son is being wrongly accused. She claims that the couple was having financial issues prior to Murphy’s death.

Grieving her son’s own untimely death, Linda reportedly said in an interview, “I just want to grieve my son in peace. I adored Simon and he was a part of me, a part of me that is now gone. Whatever the truth is, so be it. I just want peace.”
