Capcom: Lost Planet 2 Underperformed
Capcom has revealed that this year’s Lost Planet 2 “underperformed its projection substantially” or in other words; bombed!
Despite selling an impressive 1.5 million copies worldwide it seems that Capcom had higher hopes for the sci-fi shooter.
Lost Planet 2, which is available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 was considered something of a disappointment by reviewers on its release with IGN awarding it a miserable 6.8 and summing it up with…
Lost Planet 2 is at its best when you’re a giant robot fighting other giant robots – in other words, when it’s simple. At its core it’s a potentially great action game and it’s very good-looking, but it explains itself so incredibly poorly and has such an awkward structure and poor checkpointing that a lot of the fun is ruined by interminable frustration – not to mention the fact that it’s basically unplayable as a single-player game. It has a few genuine standout moments, especially on the rare occasions that everything works in co-op, but they don’t balance out the faults.
I wonder if we’ll get a Lost Planet 3?
