Daniel Craig Signs Up For The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Remake

Daniel Craig has signed on to star in the American remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is based on Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Trilogy of novels and is a remake of the Swedish movie of the same name.

According to Deadline filming will begin in Sweden this autumn and will be directed by Se7en and Fight Club director David Fincher.

The plot sees a disgraced financial hack who is hired by an elderly member of one of Sweden’s wealthiest families to investigate the mysterious disappearance of one his ancestors forty years previous.

Fincher has promised not to deviate too far from the source material. Craig has signed on for the entire trilogy which consists of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who played with Fire and The Girl who kicked the Hornets Nest.

TGWTDT is scheduled to hit cinemas on December 21st, 2011.
