He is certainly one of the most popular names among tennis coaches, with an impressive track record. Roger Federer, the former no. 1 whose rankings recently started to drop, hired Paul Annacone on a trial basis. The American coach Annacone is best known for his work with former U.S. Tennis star Pete Sampras.

Further to that, he had worked with Marat Safin and Tim Henman and is currently the head coach of Britain’s Lawn Tennis Association. Federer announced through his website that he has been looking for an addition to his team and decided to spend some time with Paul Annacone. Roger Federer’s ranking has slipped to to No. 3. He is now listed behind Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Federer has not played a tournament since Wimbledon. To get in shape for the 2010 U.S. Open in August, he signed up to play two hard court events (Toronto and Cincinnati).
