Nintendo dropped a big hint that their upcoming 3DS handheld system could retail at under 200 quid.
James Honeywell, Nintendo’s UK marketing manager told MCV…
“Price, we haven’t made any kind of announcement at the moment. The Nintendo DSi is available for around £129.99. The Nintendo DSi XL, with the larger screens, is around £159.99. So obviously, it’s going to fit, kind of, somewhere within that kind of architecture.”
If the 3DS comes in around the 180 mark then I’m going to pre-order.
The US analyst Michael Pachter claims that the 3DS could come in around the 250 dollar mark and if he’s right, that would support a 180 to 200 UK price point.
Hopefully Nintendo won’t be too greedy on this one as it’s going to be hard enough to talk my girlfriend into getting me one as it is after I wasted 250 bones on a PSPGo the other week.
