Underworld Director In Talks To Make Total Recall Remake
The Heat Vision blog is reporting that Underworld and Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wiseman is in talks to helm the proposed Total Recall remake.
Yep, they’re remaking Total Recall.
Now, I don’t want to dump on Wiseman but what has he done to deserve to direct the remake of the sci-fi classic? There is nothing on his CV to suggest that he can handle the material. To date he has only directed three movies. (he has one in production). He directed and wrote the first two Underworld movies and oversaw the fourth and arguably weakest Die Hard movie.
The Arnold Schwarzenegger original, which was released back in 1990 was based on the Philip K Dick story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale and was an instant classic.
Perhaps giving such an iconic remake to a relative newcomer like Wiseman could turn out to be a positive thing but I’m afraid my pessimism is preventing me from crossing my fingers for Wiseman.
