Fringe star Jasika Nicole, she played Astrid Fansworth (Walter’s assistant?) has revealed that she really enjoyed playing the autistic version of Astrid from the alternate universe in the upcoming third season of Fringe.

Talking to USAWeekend the actress revealed that she drew on her own experiences of having an autistic sister when she played the role…

“I’m trying to not incorporate everything about my sister, but just things that I know really well to take from my own experience and put into alternate Astrid,”

She went on to add…

“She’s tricky but she’s really cool. She’s so guarded that it’s a little bit easy to play her because I don’t have to relate to anybody. It’s really just playing a completely different character, almost in a different show. The alternate universe is so different – none of the characters she interacts with are the same.”

There’s something about Astrid that I just don’t trust…

Fringe begins its third season on September 23.
