A Rambo Prequel Could Be On The Way

A couple of months back Sylvester Stallone revealed that there would probably never be a Rambo 5. (He actually said that there was a 99% that there wouldn’t which leaves a 1% chance that it might)

As gutted as I was about that, I could understand Stallone’s reasoning that the story of John Rambo had come full circle.

But!

Now he’s spoken for the first time about the possibility of a prequel.

On the website; Aintitcool.com Stallone featured in a week-long Q&A session to promote the upcoming Expendables movie. And as you can expect, the topic of a Rambo sequel came up. Here’s how Sly responded…

“The character came full circle [in the fourth film]; he went home. For Rambo to go on another adventure might be misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary.”

And then he was asked about the possibility of a prequel…

“I certainly think this is worth pondering. It’s intriguing to find the whys and wherefores of how peope have become what they are. The traumas, the loss and the tragedy of being in Vietnam would certainly be a great challenge for a young actor, and it would be ironic that Rambo directs younger Rambo having played it for twenty years plus…”

All I am going to say is that I really don’t want to see someone else play John Rambo.

I’m all for it. A younger Sly look alike would fit the bill perfectly! :)
