Stallone has still got it – going up against ‘Eat, Pray, Love,’ the ‘Expendables’ easily prevailed at the box office this past weekend. The action-adventure film grossed $35 million making it a vital win for Lionsgate.

Julia Roberts, however, still has box office power. She has been the highest opening leading lady since 2001. ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ grossed $23.7 million, making it the second highest box office success of the week.

Michael Cera’s, of ‘Juno’ fame, release of ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ was a bit of a disappointment. It grossed only $10.5 million, which is a much lower number than the studio had wanted.

‘The Other Guys,’ starring Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg took in $18 million, bringing the total box office of the film to $70.5 million to date. This dropped the film to third place.

The dream thriller, ‘Inception’ is still performing well in fourth place adding another $11.3 million to it’s almost $250 million box office total to date.
