Video Game developers Sucker Punch Productions has revealed some new details for the upcoming PS3 exclusive InFamous 2.

According to Bruce Oberg, (he’s the lead producer on the game) InFamous 2 will have revamped close combat and improved morality mechanics.

Also, InFamous protagonist Cole will come armed with a new melee weapon which goes by the name of The Amp which is perfect for twatting enemies at close range.

Oberg also revealed that the karma system from the original game will be based on more “cut and dry” decisions for the sequel which will result in players getting clearer indications of the outcomes of their actions.

Finally the producer admitted that they scrapped the new look they had planned for Cole after fan reaction for the redesign was overwhelmingly negative…

“We rolled out new Cole at E3 and we were absolutely stunned at how much people cared about the old Cole design. We didn’t really understand how passionate people were about the original.”

InFamous 2 is set to be released next year exclusively for the Playstation 3.
