Opening in eighth place in its opening weekend, Jennifer Aniston’s romantic comedy, “The Switch” falls short of box office expectations.

The film, about a 40-year-old woman who wants to become pregnant by artificial insemination only grossed $8.1 million.
Even with Jennifer Aniston’s star power and Jason Bateman’s charm, the film disappointed. According to CinemaScore, audiences who did see the film were not thrilled with it.

The big success at the box office this weekend was still Sylvester Stallone’s flick, “The Expendables.” It earned an additional $16.5 million making its total gross for two weeks $65 million. Folks seem to really enjoy the film which features a star-studded cast of aging action stars.

“Inception” is still holding on to its share of the box office with $7.6 million. To date, the dream thriller has earned $261 million making it clearly one of the summer’s greatest hits.
