Samantha Stosur ready for 2010 U.S. Open
Samantha Stosur took it easy over the past few days to be fully rested when the 2010 U.S. Open starts in two days. Her serving arm was treated for a stress reaction and she needed a little break to fully recover.
The Australian didn’t play well during last year’s Open, even though she went through a thorough preparation by competing in four warm-up events leading up to the tournament in New York City. Nevertheless, she was upset in the second round by Vania King who entered the competition via a wildcard.
In a recent interview, Stosur told the press that she was simply tired last year and felt fried before she even started her 2009 U.S. Open first round match.
This year though, where she made it into the French Open Final and also reached the highest ranking in her career as the world’s number 5, she is more rested and relaxed, and therefore feels ready to make a strong statement in Flushing Meadows.
