Comedian Robert Schimmel seriously injured in accident
Best known for his appearances on “The Howard Stern” show on Sirius satellite radio reportedly is recovering from a car accident. According to EW.com, Schimmel was in a car driven by his 19-year-old daughter on Thursday when she veered away from a potential accident. The sudden car movement caused the car she was driving to roll over onto the road side. The incident occurred on an Arizona freeway.
Schimmel’s daughter is reportedly in stable condition in the hospital, while his son, 11, who in the vehicle as well was released with no injuries on Thursday.
The raunchy comedian known for sharing all of the dirty little details of his controversial life with his audience is a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed in 2000 with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and treated with chemotherapy. His struggles with cancer sparked him to write his book: “Cancer on $5 a Day (chemo not included): How Humor Got Me Through the Toughest Journey of My Life.”
