Roger Federer’s optimistic outlook on the 2010 U.S. Open
In a telephone interview while riding in a car through New York City, Roger Federer shared his optimistic outlook on the 2010 U.S. Open.
Since 2004, the Swiss tennis star has reached every men’s final in Flushing Meadows. According to Federer, his confidence was high in the past few years, but he doesn’t feel any less confident this year, despite the strong competition.
The 2010 U.S. Open will start on Monday and Rafael Nadal will try to finally complete his career Grand Slam.
The American Andy Roddick wants to make sure that the 2010 title stays in the USA, Andy Murray aims for his first major title and Novak Djokovic is hungry for a second one. Federer acknowledges the presence and results of his most fierce components and told reporters that they are all “looking good”.
Nonetheless, he made it clear that he needs to be considered as a favorite, given his history at the Open and the fact that he made it into the finals so many times in a row.
