Another Analyst Claims LA Noire Is Delayed Until Next Year

Have you noticed that every week some video game analyst company pops out from whatever rock they have been hiding under and makes a bland prediction that surprises no one yet gets covered by almost every website and blog?

This time, some dude named Evan Wilson, an analyst from Pacific Crest Securities (Sounds more like a military contractor than a Investment Bank) has claimed, to the surprise of absolutely no one that Rockstar’s upcoming LA Noire will not be released until 2011.

Unlike most analysts though, (Michael Pachter I am looking at you) Wilson seems to have actually spoken with people and not just shouted out the first thing that popped in his head. In this case, Evan Wilson claims to have spoken with retailers who allegedly informed him that LA Noire will not be released this year.

Wilson wrote…

“We have confirmed the delay of LA Noire from fiscal Q4 (Oct.) well into [fiscal] 2011 [November 1, 2010 to October 31, 2011] As far as we can tell, [publisher] Take-Two has not shown the game to retailers.”

LA Noir was first announced way back in 2005 and was originally scheduled for release in 2008. If Wilson is right and LA Noir is released next year then it will have been in development for 6 years.
