Three Names Three Possible Directors For Fantastic Four Reboot
The superhero movie rumour-mill has started churning out the names of directors to helm Fox’s planned Fantastic Four reboot and the first three names it throws out belong to The A-Team’s Joe Carnahan, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ David Yates and V for Vendetta’s James McTeigue.
Three names three very different directors. So, if Yates, Carnahan and McTeigue are actually on the shortlist who can we expect, out of these three, to actually land the gig?
Well, my money would be on James McTeigue. His entire directorial resume consists of V for Vendetta (which by all accounts was really a Wachowski brothers movie), The Invasion which starred Nicole Kidman and Ninja Assassin. He is the only director on the list who really needs the Fantastic Four. David Yates has got four Harry Potter movies on his resume so he will never need to beg for work again while Carnahan is fresh from The A-Team movie and is also linked to another comic book property in Preacher.
So, of this batch of three directors my money would be on James McTeigue helming the Fantastic Four reboot but as far as Fox execs are concerned, he is probably not even in contention for the job…
