Hot Tub Time Machine star John Cusack will take on the role of famous American horror writer Edgar Allen Poe in director James McTeigue’s (Ninja Assassin, V For Vendetta) upcoming adaptation ‘The Raven’. Terror in the sky – not really

During a smooth flight on Tuesday between London and Hong Kong, an announcement terrified passengers. According to reports, the 275 passengers on the plane were told to brace themselves because the plane was about to crash into the sea. The message was an automated emergency message. One passenger onboard said, “We all thought we were going to die.” Traumatized passengers were reassured quickly by flight attendants that the recording was played in error and that there was no impending danger. British Airways is investigating the incident and trying to determine the cause. Stock Market rallies after hitting some lows

“The market is starving for something decent to look at,” said president of financial planning firm Russell & Company, Rob Russell. The direction of the economy is of continued concern with investors. Stocks rallied an average of 1.7 percent surging 165 points on Friday for the Dow Jones industrial average, with the S&P 500 jumping 1.7 percent or 17 points, and the Nasdaq composite climbed 1.7 percent or 35 points. These gains enabled the major indexes to end the day in positive territory however they closed the week in the red. Paris Hilton arrested for cocaine possession

According to the Associated Press, at 11:30 PM Friday night, police noticed what appeared to be marijuana smoke streaming out of a car in Las Vegas. When they pulled the car over, they saw what they thought may be drugs on Hilton. When tested later, the drug found was confirmed to be cocaine. “Officers noticed a vehicle leaving a smoke trail of a controlled substance (and) made a stop based on that,” said Marcus Martin of the Las Vegas police. The car was being driven by a friend of Hilton’s who was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. No further details about the man are currently available. Hilton was booked on a cocaine…

North Carolina “Ghost train” hunter hit by train

On August 27, 1891, a train carrying passengers jumped its track near Statesville, North Carolina while passing over a tall bridge. As a result, seven cars plunged off the bridge killing about 30 people. Every year since on the anniversary of the wreck, legend has it that one can hear the wheels of the train screech and the ill-fated passengers scream. One might also hear the crash occur and see a man in uniform holding a gold watch. Last night at 3:00 AM, the 119th anniversary of the tragedy on the Bostian Bridge, at roughly the same time, about a dozen ghost hunters were out on the same span of track where the accident occurred….
