According to Capcom executive Keiji Inafune, the giant video game publisher are getting ready to announce Resident Evil 6. In a recent interview with the Spanish website; 3D Juegos, Inafune, who is the designer behind Capcom’s mascot Mega Man revealed…

“Given the great success that supposed for us Resident Evil 5, we want that Resident Evil 6 leaves as rapidly as possible to the market. In fact, you will shortly have the news of Capcom about this…”

Man I would love another Resident Evil. The pressure is really on Capcom to deliver a true Resident Evil experience next time around. With Dead Space 2 on the horizon the Resident Evil franchise is in real danger of losing its crowd as king of the survival horror genre. Hopefully the next Resident Evil title will go back to its roots and place its emphasis on horror and exploration over action sequences and quick time events.
