Kim Clijsters did not have a lot of problems in her match against Petra Kvitova on Friday. The Belgian tennis star won in two straight sets 6-3 and 6-0.

The reigning champion, Clijsters, is the favorite player for the 2010 U.S. Open women’s singles title. And she has the New York crowd cheering for her. Last year’s win after her ‘baby-break’ left a deep impression on her opponents and the fans.

However, she had some serious issues with her service in the first set. Clijsters did not hit one single ace all throughout the match and her first serve percentage today was a low 59 percent. In the press interview after the match, she explained that her service has been causing her trouble for several weeks.

Nevertheless, she managed to come back after falling back 3-0 quickly in the first set, and she has re-gained her confidence, Kvitova started to lose the consistency in her shots.
