The last couple of weeks has been full of Mission: Impossible 4 news and rumors. First we had to go through the whole ‘will Tom Cruise return’ saga and then we found out that The Incredibles director Brad Bird would be making his live-action directorial debut by helming the movie. Then we had the news that Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg would return while finally The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner’s name was added to the cast list.

Well, today we’re going to be talking about the female lead role which has been won by Paula Patton. Personally I didn’t recognize her name but after a quick visit to IMDB I found out that she has appeared in Hitch, Déjà vu, Swing Vote, Mirrors and Precious. Patton will play a young operative who teams up with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. Mission: Impossible 4 is seen by producer JJ Abrams as a reboot of the movie franchise and will drop the ‘4’ from the title.

It is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2011.
