Rafael Nadal cruising to fourth round of 2010 U.S. Open
He is the top seed of the 2010 U.S. Open and round after round he demonstrates impressively why he is the number one in the world.
Rafael Nadal had a rather easy work day beating Gilles Simon of France in the third round in three straight sets with 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Yes, again straight sets. But at least there was one novelty in Nadal’s performance on Sunday – he did not go into a tie-breaker.
He has improved his service dramatically and if that were ever a weakness in his game, well, now it is gone. Nadal has not been broken once during the entire tournament.
In the fourth round, he is scheduled to play his fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. Gilles Simon was not too sad over his loss. After the match he hurried to get a flight back to Europe to see his new born son for the first time.
