Epic Mickey Could Be The Start Of A New Franchise
Warren Spector, the designer of the Wii-Exclusive adventure platformer Epic Mickey has revealed that he wants to continue the Epic Mickey storyline beyond the upcoming video game.
In an interview with the Official Nintendo Magazine, Spector revealed that he sees Epic Mickey as the start to a brand new video game franchise…
“I’ve been pretty upfront that I have no interest at all in doing something that’s just a one shot. Certainly it has been conceived as something that could become a franchise because that’s all I’m interested in doing. Not because I want to build a brand and make a ton of money but because there are so many stories to tell. Whether that actually happens is way above my pay grade”
Spector then laughed off suggestions that after going Mickey Mouse for Epic Mickey he could make a Donald Duck video game…
“Ha! That would be a completely different game. I wouldn’t even want to do that as part of this Wasteland world we’ve created.”
Epic Mickey is due for release exclusively on the Nintendo Wii in the next couple of months.
