It was a rather easy match for Gilles Simon of France today. The eighth-seeded Frenchman beat German qualifier Mischa Zverev in two straight sets with 6-3 and 6-2 to claim the 2010 Open de Moselle title.

Simon won his last hard court title at the Bangkok tournament last year and today he only needed a little over an hour to defeat his opponent.

He had to eliminate another German, Philipp Kohlschreiber in the semis where he only needed 54 minutes to claim his victory. That gave him a lot of confidence for the final.

Zverev was noticeably overwhelmed and nervous. It was his first career final and he always wound up under pressure to hold his service.

Simon hit nine aces and clinched his chance to close out the match on his first opportunity. Simon told the press after the match that he felt some pressure on his part too, playing in France and an opponent with a rather low ranking. He therefore was expected to win, which is not always an easy spot to find yourself in.
