2010 Pan Pacific Open Women’s Singles Results
Third seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia beat Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine in two straight sets with 6-4 and 6-1 at the 2010 Pan Pacific Open. Sixth-seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland had no problems with Olga Govortsova of Belarus, winning 6-2 and 6-3.
Aravane Rezai defeated Polona Hercog in two sets with 6-2 and 7-5. German Julia Goerges caused a major upset, beating former no. 1 player Dinara Safina of Russia in three sets with 6-1, 5-7 and 6-2. Marion Bartoli of France downed Yanina Wickmayer with 6-4 and 6-4.
American Coco Vandeweghe had a good start in the tournament beating Klara Zakopalova (Czech Republic) with 6-4 and 7-6(6). Shahar Peer had to go over the full length of three sets, but prevailed over Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland with 5-7, 7-5 and 6-4.
Ana Ivanovic beat Alisa Kleybanova surprisingly easy with 6-3 and 6-2. Anges Szavay of Hungary had to retire in her match against Svetlana Kuznetsova.
