“Wall Street” leads the weekend box office
“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps ruled the box office during its opening weekend. The sequel by Oliver Stone starring Michael Douglas and Shia LeBeouf, raked in $19 million over its first three-day weekend.
Coming in second place was another newcomer, “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” with a weekend gross of $16.3 million. This animated feature film stars the voices of Anthony LaPaglia, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush and Abbie Cornish among others.
The Ben Affleck film, “The Town,” finished in third place with $16 million bringing its total take so far up to $49 million.
The Emma Stone comedy, “Easy A” came in fourth place with $10.7 million making its total gross to date over $32.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was the Kristen Bell comedy, “You Again.” Even Betty White couldn’t save the disappointing opening for this film. It took in a mere $8.3 million.
