BlackBerry Reveals Their iPad Competition – BlackBerry Playbook
It looks as though the Apple Ipad has another competitor and that is the BlackBerry Playbook. RIM, the makers of the smartphone, have announced that they will release their 7 inch touch tablet called the BlackBerry Playbook sometime in 2011.
They are still keeping quite a few things secret, but it will be roughly 0.9 pounds and 0.4 inches thick, with rumored features such as a 5 megapixel camera, 1Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of Ram (iPad only has 256 MB), and a 3MP lens that will be capable of recording HD Video, it is certain to give the iPad a run for it’s money. The only downfall at this time to the first generation BlackBerry Playbook, which may prove initially to be a hard sell, is that it will only provide Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, but future releases will have both 3G and 4G versions.
While the BlackBerry Playbook is most likely going to target the business person, as most BlackBerry products do, it is certain to be a hit for those that are not fans of Apple products such as the iPad.
