Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson has revealed that she has been trying to “hold back the tears” over her upcoming exit from the TV soap. Stenson, who has played Steph Dean since 2000 has just finished filming her final scenes for the show after deciding to quit earlier in the year.

Her final scene will see the culmination of her character’s struggle with the effects of cervical cancer and Stenson admitted that it was a very sad and emotional moment. Talking to PA she revealed…

“My final scenes were really sad and emotional. I’ve said to everyone as soon as I let the flood gates open there’s no stopping me so I’ve tried to hold back the tears as much as I can. It will hit me in a few months’ time.”

Just in case you’re going to miss Stenson, don’t worry, you can catch her in the West End where she is due to take over the role of Margot in Legally Blonde: The Musical.
