Nominees for the 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Announced this morning as possible inductees into the 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were performers such as, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, The Beastie Boys, LL Cool J and Bon Jovi.
Alice Cooper told CNN how honored he was about his nomination, “We are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it’s definitely a compliment to be recognized.”
Other stars such as Donova, Dr. John, Chic, Neil Diamond, Darlene Love, J. Geils Band, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, Tom Waits, Chuck Willis, and Joe Tex were recognized as well.
Joel Peresman, Hall of fame President and CEO said that ballots are being sent to over 500 voters. “We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represent the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll.”
The inductees will be announced in December with the 26th Annual Induction Ceremony taking place on March 14, 2011.
