During the “Oprah Winfrey Show’s” final season, many surprises and fulfillment of dreams are in the works. The most recent announcement involves a reunion of the cast of “The Sound of Music.”

According to a statement, the October 29, 2010 show will feature cast members, Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charmaian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies-Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl).

The cast has not participated in a reunion of this type for 45 years.  Their plans for the Winfrey show are to talk dirt about the behind the scenes gossip that occurred on the set (if they can remember) and what the cast has been up to since the movie was released.

Also appearing will be some of the original Von Trapp children to perform some of the songs from the movie.
