Real Life Iron Man Suit – Coming To A Military Near You

If you ever wanted to say to your friends “I am Iron Man” and mean it, the opportunity may not be too far away. Defense contractor Raytheon Sarcos revealed today images of their real life iron man suit, the XOS 2 wearable exoskeleton.    The suit is designed for military use and is estimated to be deployed in about 5 years.

The iron man suit, or XOS2, will make what once seemed impossible, possible. The ability to lift roughly 150 to 200 pounds repeatedly without feeling fatigued or to be able to punch through four wood boards in one swift punch would certainly make things a little easier in war zones.

According to the company Raytheon Sarcos, the first release will be the “tethered” version which means it will be attached directly to its power source.  Further improvements will allow for the person wearing the suit to have complete independence from the power source and the ability to move around freely.  Next up, flying cars!
