According to the torrent website TorrentFreak, Call of Duty: Black Ops developers Treyarch are watching the illegal torrent files purporting to be the actual Xbox 360 gold release of their upcoming video game Call of Duty: Black Ops which is set to take the video game world by storm when it is released next month.

Apparently, there is a file up on the torrent sites which claims it is the actual Call of Duty: Black Ops game for the Xbox 360 but according to TorrentFreak, they attempted to download the file to ascertain its authenticity.

Now, the question is where did the file come from? At this moment in time, Treyarch are themselves denying any involvement but some people are speculating that Treyarch uploaded a dodgy copy in much the same way that Rocksteady were assumed to have done with Batman: Arkham Asylum, whereby the copy that pirates downloaded was an inferior version of the retail one.

Also, another suggestion is that if Treyarch has uploaded it then they have done so in order to weed out the illegal file sharers and are actually monitoring the IP addresses of all who rip it down.
