Spare a thought for poor old Carey Mulligan who is reportedly living in a hotel after splitting up from her Transformers starring boyfriend; the inexplicably popular Shia LaBeouf.

Yep, despite being a successful actress herself, Mulligan is said to be living in a standard hotel room in a crappy LA hotel after splitting with LaBeouf after rumours linked the actor to his Transformers 3 co-star Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley.

Here’s what an employee of the hotel had to say to the Mail on Sunday…

“This is more a place for back-packers, students and those on a budget. We pride ourselves on being clean and tidy but this is a long way from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. I was stunned when I saw Carey walking across the lobby. You would expect her to stay at the Four Seasons, not here. She is very easy-going. She hasn’t made any special requests and doesn’t ask to be treated any differently. She keeps herself to herself and seems quite happy here.”

While a friend of Mulligan added…

“Carey was very upset over the gossip about him and Rosie. She went to Chicago to visit him on set in August, but it didn’t go according to plan. Shia was very cold with her. Things went from bad to worse.”
