According to Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen’s representative, the actor was not recently found intoxicated at a New York Hotel and what initially presented like the effects of intoxication was in fact an allergic reaction the star was having to medication he was taking.

In a statement, Sheen’s representative Stan Rosenfield explained that his client is in hospital but is expected to be released sometime today. He is being treated for an allergic reaction…

“What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to be released tomorrow.”

It had been reported that the sitcom star had been found in the New York hotel and appeared…

“intoxicated, irrational and emotionally disturbed”.

To add more fuel to the fire, People (magazine) are reporting that the 45 year old actor is actually being assessed at the hospital for…

“alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation”.

So, which is it, allergic reaction or alcohol abuse?
