Todd Phillips Talks About Mel Gibson Hangover 2 Axe
The Hangover 2 director Todd Phillips has been talking about the decision to axe Mel Gibson’s cameo in his heavily anticipated sequel. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the director revealed that while he himself wanted Gibson to appear in The Hangover 2, he just didn’t have the support of his entire cast and crew…
“He’s one of our finest actors and, quite honestly, one of our finest directors. But The Hangover 2 is a family… and as much as I loved the idea, a lot of people didn’t… I didn’t want anything to come in between that family.”
According to a source close to Mel Gibson, the star is said to be furious with the way the Hangover 2 producers publically axed him…
“He doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance [in the original Hangover film], while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance,”
