Good Riddance LimeWire Is Dead

Global file sharing site LimeWire is no more!

In a massive blow to the illegal file sharing community, the US District Court in New York City has, effectively, shut down LimeWire, one of the biggest file sharing websites on the internet. The US District Court issued an injunction that forced the file sharing giant to disable their searching, downloading and uploading functionality which essentially is basically everything that made LimeWire the go-to site for all things torrents.

If you were to pop on over to LimeWire right now you will be met with the following notice…

“This is an official notice that LimeWire is under a court ordered injunction to stop distributing and supporting its file-sharing software. Downloading or sharing copyrighted content without authorisation is illegal”.

A spokesperson for the LimeWire group adds…

“We are out of the file-sharing business, but you can make it known that other aspects of our business remain ongoing,”

Good riddance I say. One less internet pirate ruining everything for us.
