Battlestar Galactica Spinoff Caprica Gets The Axe

Syfy have announced that the Battlestar Galactica spin-off Caprica has been cancelled after just one season. According to the network, viewing figures for Caprica weren’t strong enough to warrant a second season of the show which focused on the origins of the Cylons.

Mark Stern, the executive vice president of Syfy released a statement in which he thanked everybody who worked on the show and seemed genuinely upset that the viewing figures were poor…

“We appreciate all the support that fans have shown for Caprica and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series. Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season.”

<<<THOUGHTS>>>

Personally I was never able to really get on board with Caprica. It just didn’t hook me like Battlestar did. I am more interested in the new prequel series that recently got the green light; Blood and Chrome, which will focus on Bill Adama’s experiences in the first Cylon war. At least Blood and Chrome will be more of what I am looking for out of a Battlestar Galactica prequel.
