Pop diva Mariah Carey has revealed that her and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first baby together.

The rumours of Carey’s pregnancy started when she pulled out of the new Tyler Perry movie this past June. Since then the rumour-mill has been in overdrive which in turn forced Carey to break the news to Access Hollywood.

“Yes, we are pregnant, this is true! It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy. At this point, there is no choice. I either talk or I hibernate,”

Carey went on to add that the miscarriage she suffered nearly two years ago reinforced her marriage and made it stronger…

“It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened… I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.”

Husband Cannon added..

“It definitely brought us closer together. It strengthened our relationship so much. She handled it so well. The greatest gift on earth is a child. We’ve had names picked out from the first day we met and we want to stay true to that.”

I hope everything turns out okay for the couple but I can’t help but be somewhat annoyed when stars like Carey complain about a lack of privacy. When she said; “It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy” it was almost like she was complaining about the very thing she gave up in order to be famous. If you want privacy Mariah, you know that all you have to do is step out of the limelight. Until you’re prepared to do that you have no right to complain. You traded privacy for fame, very rarely does our society allow you to enjoy both at the same time.
