Star Wars fans are going to get the chance to buy Darth Vader’s costume from The Empire Strikes Back when the iconic costume goes up for auction on the 25th of November.

Before you get too excited though, Vader’s costume is expected to fetch around a quarter of a million quid. The costume will come with the helmet, mask, shoulder armour and shin guards and as far as anyone can ascertain, this is the first full Vader costume to go on sale to the general public.

The auction will take place at the famous Christie’s auction house in London, England. Neil Roberts, a spokesperson for the auction company said that the Vader costume auction is…

“a rare opportunity to Star Wars fans around the world. Darth Vader is defined by his costume which has made him one of the most recognised characters from the history of film. The global appeal of the Star Wars films, and the interest that the series has attracted from a number of generations, is perhaps unprecedented in the world of cinema,”

A percentage of the sale profits are expected to be donated to Cancer Research UK.

Just imagine how cool it would be to own Vader’s costume from arguably the best Star Wars movie. To a Star Wars fanboy like myself, a quarter of a million UK pounds sounds like a steal.
